    On Nov. 9, 2009, President Obama signed Executive Order 13518, Employment of Veterans in the Federal Government. The order established the Veterans Employment Initiative, which is designed to assist people who have served in the military find federal government employment. It provides resources, including a directory of Veteran Employment Program managers.

    A nonprofit organization dedicating to ensuring that the government honors its commitment to veterans.
  • Operation Autism – A Resource Guide for Military Families
    Directly supports U.S. military families touched by autism and autism spectrum disorders. It serves as an introduction to autism, a guide for the life journey with autism, and a ready reference for available resources, services, and support.
  • Project Evergreen (SnowCare for Troops)Project EverGreen has partnered with The BOSS Snowplow to connect military families with snow and ice management professionals and volunteers to provide free snow and ice removal services.
  • Social Security and Department of Defense Implement New Process to Improve Efficiency for Wounded Warriors Applying for Disability Benefits (SSA Press Release 4/30/12)
    The Social Security Administration and the Department of Defense (DoD) are working together to improve access to disability benefits for the nation’s Wounded Warriors, service members, veterans, and their dependents.  A new nationwide project enables Social Security disability case processing sites to receive military medical records from multiple DoD facilities with a single request to a centralized DoD site.  As of today, this initiative is in its first phase of nationwide expansion.
