  • Beyond Basics
    Offering reading, writing and expanding horizons enrichment programs to students attending public schools in Metropolitan Detroit. The program is firmly based on the understanding that children, exposed to educational curricula beyond the basic school system offerings, will obtain higher scores on exams and have a greater chance of achieving excellence beyond their public school careers.

  • Camp Sancta Maria
    Camp Sancta Maria offers young men ages 8 to 16, a summer full of fun, personal growth, and spiritual development.
  • Children's Bureau (An Office of the Administration for Children & Families)
    The Children’s Bureau (CB) focuses on improving the lives of children and families through programs that reduce child abuse and neglect, increase the number of adoptions, and strengthen foster care.
  • Children's Defense Fund
    The voice for all the children of America.
  • InsureKidsNow.gov
    Provides information about Medicaid and CHIP services for families who need health insurance coverage.  These programs are designed to be affordable for families who are not able to afford health insurance coverage in the private market or do not have coverage available to them.  Even if you’ve been turned down in the past, you may be able to get health coverage for your child now.  Learn more about health coverage programs in your state.

  • National Assn. of Counsel for Children
    The practice of law for children is a relatively recent development.
  • National Center for Youth Law
    Using the law to improve the lives of poor children.
  • United Way
    Contact their 211 social services and health hot line to get help with applying for Medicaid coverage for children.

Many of the top search engines, including Google and Bing, give specific results based on the information typed in the search box. However, some of these results can be misleading or contain inappropriate information for children. In order to help children with safe searching while on the Internet, many companies have come up with child friendly search sites. These sites allow children to find information about topics they are interested in, along with information that will be useful for homework and school projects in a safe environment.
